Brooklyn Law Students for the Public Interest (BLSPI)
is a student-run, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization (Tax ID Number
11-3083437) at Brooklyn Law School that encourages and enables student
participation in public interest legal work. Our mission is to help
meet the legal needs of underrepresented communities and individuals.
The annual BLSPI Auction is the source of funding for many of our
initiatives. Last year, the auction raised over $40,000. With your help
we hope to raise $50,000 this year!
The auction will give your company an excellent opportunity to showcase
your goods and services to your target demographic: professionals who
work and play in New York City. The entire law school community is
invited to attend the auction, including first and second year students
who will be recruited at law firms in the months following the event.
All money raised at the auction directly funds BLSPI initiatives,
including our academic presentations, clothing, food, and blood drives,
and community service trips. Most importantly, auction proceeds help
fund the BLSPI Summer Fellowship Program, one of the most prestigious
student awards given at Brooklyn Law School. Each fellowship provides a
stipend that allows a student to work in a summer internship that would
otherwise be unpaid.
