There are numerous positions available on the BLSPI Executive Board for the coming academic year that will be filled through appointment in the coming weeks.  If you are interested in being considered, please submit your Statement of Interest (2-3 paragraphs on why you would like to be considered) to cochairs@blspi.org by Sunday, April 15 at 10 p.m. We will then announce those appointments by Friday, April 20 at 5 p.m., allowing for transition meetings to take place with the outgoing officeholders before we all become too consumed with preparing for final exams.

The positions that are available for appointment:
Alumni Relations Chair
This position is responsible for our organizational outreach to BLSPI alumni.  In the past, this has been significant around the Auction and the Public Service Awards Ceremony/BLSPI Alumni Dinner, but with the establishment of the organization’s Advisory Board of Directors, this position will grow and become even more vital.
2 Community Development Co-Chairs
These positions are responsible for organizing a number of educational, social, and networking events throughout the year for BLSPI members and the BLS community at large.  These events include the annual Race and the Law Week, along with a number of smaller events such as the Halloween candy drive, the Thanksgiving canned food drive, and the March Madness fundraiser.
Fundraising Chair
This is a newly-created position for next year.  Our hopes are to seek out ways beyond the Auction for BLSPI to raise funds to support public interest initiatives at BLS.  This position will look to find other sources of support for BLPSI through possible grants, foundations, and our alumni (in working with the Alumni Relations Chair).
2 Mentorship Co-Chairs
These positions are responsible for organizing the Mentorship program BLSPI offers 1L students.  This includes recruiting participants, matching mentors and mentees, and hosting a number of events throughout the year.
Pro Bono Chair
This position is responsible for fostering relationships with the Pro Bono project coordinators and increase BLSPI involvement in these initiatives. This year, the Chair organized both the Pro Bono Mixer in the Fall and the Public Service Awards Dinner/BLSPI Alumni Dinner in the Spring.
Public Relations Chair
This is also a new position for next year.  This Chair will handle all promotional efforts for the organization, including updating our website and social media accounts, flyering BLSPI events throughout campus, and outreach to possible co-sponsors.  There is also a small amount of outside communications / media relations involved.
